All residents and property owners in Shore Acres are eligible to be members in the SAIA. A membership runs one year, from May 1 to April 30. Membership dues are $45 per family or institution, regardless of the number of lots or parcels owned. The amount is the same regardless of what time of the year it is paid.

In the case of a resident family, whether owners or renters, the membership confers member status on all resident family members 18 or older. In the case of non-resident property owners (i.e., those whose legal residence is outside Shore Acres) member status is conferred on all the owners of record of the property. Each member is entitled to vote in general meetings.

A family is defined as a single household, under a single roof, and at a single address. People related by blood or marriage, no matter how close, are not considered family for purposes of membership unless they are part of the same household as just defined.

Institutions (e.g., clubs, corporations, LLC's) owning Shore Acres property may hold membership as an institution. Each institution is entitled to one vote in SAIA affairs. The organization may designate its representative to cast that vote.

See the box on the top right to download a membership application and boat ramp permit.  The application can be sent to SAIA at P.O. Box 12 , Arnold, MD 21012 . An acknowledgment (and key if permit is sought) will be sent by mail. Or the form can be relayed personally to David Dold (410-349-2291) or Tom Woodward (410-757-0867), who can also issue boat ramp keys in person if necessary.

Most residents of Shore Acres are members of the Association; only a minority choose not to participate in its efforts to improve the community. But many people find it difficult to remember when they last paid dues. If you are not sure, please verify your current membership status by by following the link in the box on the bottom right.
